1. Venice. Some Pope or other declared the Adriatic "married" to the Doge of Venice to symbolize her domination over in. He did this because Venice sheltered him against I think the Franks, but I am not sure.

2. Blinds. Nuff said.

3, 4 I'm referring to the rectangular pieces of wood or plastic that are connected to make the whole set of blinds. They spin to let in light or close it out.

The answer is not Venice, it's Venetian Blinds. Look at it from that perspective.

And I made up the riddle, so it may very well not be very good.

Ok, here is the full explanation.

This entire riddle describes one thing: Venetian Blinds. There are no answers because there are no questions (except "Who am I?"😉. However many of the lines are suggestive or plays on words, not literal descriptions. A good riddle makes one think outside the box.

The Pope wed the sea to me
Describes Venice. You're right. It's not a direct description but a poetic one.

Unfortunately, I cannot see
Because they are "Blind"(s).

I live in a flock
It's not one Blind, it's plural - Blinds.

and spin when on the clock
When the Blinds are "working" ("on the clock"😉, the individual slats spin.

With my brothers I stop your sight

First line refers to Marco Polo, who brought the Blinds from China. The second line is just to fill space and give me a rhyme. Again, plural Blinds.

In China, these Blinds were used to cover lanterns. Opening and closing the Blinds lets you send signals over long range.

The game brought us to our name
Marco Polo brought them to Venice, which is part of the name.
And to worldwide fame
Venice made them famous. That's why they're called Venetian.

When we are at work we sometimes make a clatter.
No one gets upset, though...it doesn't matter.
