so where are all the "smart" guys now, huh?

too busy in other threads telling people what they can and can't post, I imagine.

"These integrals do not have closed forms in terms of elementary
functions, but they are reducible to elliptic integrals of the
    first and second kinds.

You can find the definition of elliptic integrals in most books."

I don't know what that means unfortunately.

Erm...well you've not exactly given much time for the "smart guys" to answer before writing this.

As already mentioned, that integral won't have a nice answer in terms of elementary functions.

A numerical approximation, on the other hand, is straightforward.

You'd have to use a hypergeometric function which i've never heard of

    -((1+sin(x))^(1/2)*(-2*sin(x)+2)^(1/2)*(-sin(x))^(1/2)*(2*EllipticE((1+sin(x))^(1/2), 1/2*2^(1/2))-EllipticF((1+sin(x))^(1/2),1/2*2^(1/2))))/(cos(x)*sin(x)^(1/2))

    Simple really.
