How would you cook an egg in exactly 15 minutes when you didn't have a watch, clock, or timer, but only a 11 minute hour glass and a 7 minute hourglass. It is possible to do this in two turns, not including starting the timers.

Depends where the egg came from and what temperature the water is.

Ostrich eggs take up to an hour to soft boil.

For the BBC Chef Competition 'The Great British Menu' top chef Sat Bains cooked his duck eggs for something like 6 hours!! (The water was kept at a constant 30 Centigrade)

86F .. maybe it was a bit warmer and maybe even longer. It was certainly abizarre way to boil ann egg - and they were still really soft when they came out.

Must have tasted delicious tho cos the dish won the competition for best starter and was served to the French President at the British Embassy in Paris.
