1. e4 is best, unless black plays 1...c5; then 1.d4 is best.
According to New in Chess. See http://www.newinchess.com/Yearbook/Default.aspx?PageID=226
Of course, they are wrong. 1...e6 is superior to 1...c5. See Clan 24492
Apart from those damn exd5 players!
I especially like laughing at the fools who play 3. Nc3, then play 4. e5 after 3...Nf6.
Just because I don't accept challenges, doesn't mean I'm scared of people taking me on with these openings and kicking my ass. Honest.😀
bull***t. do not listen these sub 2000 players. what do they know about life, chess and drugs??...nothing!!
1.e4! (or 1.g3!)
1...c5?! 2.g3!! +-
1...e5? 2. g3! +-
1...e6?? (lol) 2.g3! +-
1...d6!! 2.g3!! Bg7!? =
1.d4? Rf6! 2.c4?? (2.Nf3 =+) g6! -+
those are best lines. and remember, in the end it all comes down to fianchettoing your bishop.

I actually use your opening system quite a bit.
btw...here is the opening novelty I invented some time ago. 1.e4 c5 2.g3 Nc6 3.Nc6 d6 4.h4!! this is bery important move. it prevents black from attacking by h7-h5-h4 plan and also furthens the control of the essential g5-square. also it is flexible for white not to commit his bishop to g2 yet.

very good. But nowadays it is hard to find stupid enough players to play 1.d4 2.c4 line as white, so I hope you know some other defenses for black too.
This complete moron played 1. d4, 2. Nf3 3. c4.
I'm Gonna Crucify him!
What does he know?
He's only the site champion.😀
