Ask him to check out the opponents you think are using chess engines against you. He had plenty of time to go check out my games and tell me I was using a computer engine. He even said mine was not as good as some of the others, but he never said which one I was using.

Playing OTB is the best way to be reasonably sure you are not playing against a chess engine. I would also recommend playing the new players that still have the p in front of their rating. When I started playing on here I played without consulting any help at all. Then I went to opening books. The progression increased as I learned what I could use to help me get better results. That is why I say play the newbies. However you may not learn to play good chess that way, unless you choose OTB chess.
