Hello!
I was thinking about this lately. 2 different colour bishops win easely. But is it possiblble with 2 same clolour ones? I had a good chance to go onto this situation lately, but it did not happened. Still I am curious. Something new for me...

Thanks

No mating pattern exists with two same colour bishops against a lone king. You can see this if you try and arrange the board in such a position to mate a king.

32 same color bishops wouldn't be able to checkmate the lone king.

"32 same color bishops wouldn't be able to checkmate the lone king."

Infact 32 Bishops v 1 opposite coloured Bishop would lose.
All of Black's moves are forced.

There is a certain poetic symmetry to a "2 knights and king vs king and pawn" mate. Nicely done!

Are you saying two bishops of the same color on the same side, and that you had a good chance at that situation lately -- by promoting a pawn to a bishop?
