2 min game (actually I think that 2 min is too short for such a slow interface).

I swear it has happened to me more than 40 times now! Suddenly, it freezes up, my opponent's time goes down and eventually reaches zero. Nothing happens. I am forced to leave the game and then I find out I lost. Some may say that my internet connection is down, but I have broadband and I can still browse the web during this period. No, it's just some of the buggiest software ever written and coding this in Flash is perhaps the worst part. Flash isn't good for this. Java is. This all applies to both uChess and RHP Blitz.
I sent this feedback to uChess but I'm not optimistic. The copyright says 2004-2005.
"I have had 49 disconnections and it is getting very frustrating. Many of them were in completely winning positions and most were in level but interesting positions. It is a huge slap in the face to just have it stop in some of the best moments! My opponent's time goes down to 0, but the game is still considered in progress and I don't win. Waiting more doesn't change anything as I've waited as much as ten minutes. If I leave the website, I am resigned. There is no reconnect option or anything like that. It is an automatic resignation and it is VERY frustrating.I thought my broadband wireless was dropping, but the icon shows full strength and I can visit other websites just as fine and quickly as ever. I have numerous screenshots that show this if you are interested.
However, this isn't my only issue. This software, along with the similar RHP Blitz is buggy beyond belief. Choosing to make this type of program in Flash instead of Java only adds to the difficulties. Is anyone still working on this? Can I expect progress in the near future?
Thank you,
Alex"
I found an easy way to upload some screenshots. Here are some recent examples:

Well, after may tries, I can't make these links. RHP doesn't seem to support HTML or the usual BBCode tags.
Well, I've reached 50 disconnects or about 30% on the buggy monstrosity called uChess. Here's one just from today: http://upload.imgspot.com/u/07/308/13/Picture11.png It's pretty horrible and so frustrating that I feel I should be paid to play there! They shouldn't even have ratings until they can get their act together or at least offer a reconnect option. And again, it's not at all clear that this is a problem on my side. I've had no trouble on any other websites and services. Anyway, I won't be playing there too much anymore. It is perhaps even worse than Yahoo! due to reliability and bugs (features are much better). The same applies to RHP Blitz, but at least they don't claim it's fully functional. It's clearly labeled beta and it has no rating system.
Actually on uChess, it is rated but like I said, it's more than just losing a few hundred rating points. It's annoying to be in an interesting position and suddenly everything stops. Analogies to sex would work well here. 😛
It seems to diconnect fewer times if I play 1 0 (same chance but game ends before), but that's really not chess. It's who clicks faster without getting mated. I have tried it several times to see why some people think there is really skill involved. Every time, I was up pawns and pieces, but about 5-10 seconds behind on the clock. The most successful players moved almost automatically regardless of what you did. Sometimes they would give you a check losing a piece only so that you couldn't move automatically and had to think while they had an automatic response. It's clear that time is 99%, chess is 1%. So, I've really given up on even trying 1 0. It's not for me. I like to think about my moves and have some semblance of logic in the game. That isn't what 1 0 is about. Although, I think 5 0 starts to be reasonable although still very much dependent on time and low on quality.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be 1 0 anymore and that is what I was debating. Anyway, I usually play longer games (5 0 and up). Take this one from a few minutes ago: http://upload.imgspot.com/u/07/308/17/Picture1.png It was 5 5. Yes, another disconnect. It's almost guaranteed in anything longer than 5 0.
