If your opponent plays the Petroff, your chancess of winning go down dramatically, but you'll lose only if you try to win. If you must win with white, play 1.d4!
(Or, you could play the King's Gambit.)
I sometimes play the kings gambit as well, it is always fun!
Hey, anyone thought of ever sacing the knight?
1e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nxf7?! Kxf7 5.Bc4+ Ke8 6.Qe2 Be7 7.e5 dxe5 8.Qxe5
And hopefully then black moves the knight to push the queen away...
8... Ng4 9.Qxg7 Rf8 10.Qxh7 winning 5 pawns for one pawn and a knight
I guess the crossroads would be 5... Ke8 because if instead white blocks the attack then all is lost... This is probably a bad idea 😛
