If that's the line we end up following, I think we can consider ourselves lucky; I believe we could win it. I think It's more likely that PAWNRIOT will go for the draw by moving his rook back and forth.

I've looked at the positions more now.

46. ... Re3+ 47.Kb4 Rxf3 48.c5 f6 seems a bit slow. 49.c6 fxg5 50.c7 Rf8 51.Rxh3+

Black loses his h pawn, and will have to trade his rook for the c pawn. This is the problem with Re3xf3. The rook has to stay tied to the h pawn.

1. Rh1 Re3+ 2. Kb4 Nf4 3. c5 Re1 4. Rh2 Re2 5. Rxe2 Nxe2 6. c6 Nf4 7. Nc3 h2 8. c7 h1Q 10. c8Q Qxf3[/pgn]

If he decides not to trade rooks, we have a draw. If we follow this line, I believe we have a win. (Though it would take a bit more work)
That was an excellent variation. We are almost assured a draw and have winning chances!

46. ... Re3+ 47.Kb4 Nf4 48.c5 Re1! and 48.Nxa7 Re1! both seem to work.

48.Kc5 slows him down (and doesn't accomplish much).

That leaves only 48.Ka5 (dodging the Nd3 forks).

I need to look at that a little, but for the time being, I really like this variation.

48.Ka5 Rxf3 49.c5

I can't make 49. ... Ne6 work. 50.c6 Rf5 51.Rxh3+ Kg7 52.Rg3 Rc5 53.Rc3

Nor 49. ... Rg3 (winning g5) This looks very dangerous because white is getting so much time to push his c pawn. 50.c6 Rxg5 51.c7 Rc5 52.Ka6 followed by Kb7 and c8 looks dangerous.

48.Ka5 Re5 49.Ka6 Rxg5 50.Nxa7 Rc5 MAYBE

Does anyone else have any ideas against 48.Ra5?

I think black is doing fine after 50.Nxa7. I'm more worried about Kxa7 here, which lets white start to push his a pawn.
