About a year ago (well it was a year ago) I was reading some posts on
how long it would take a player to get to page one in the ladder tournament.

Some where saying many years. I thought I'd give it a go.

By using the formula of challenging under 1400 players who (if possible)
have a load of games on the go at the same time.

I started on the 2nd September 2015 on page 25 and today 2nd September 2016 I am on page 8.position 169.

I have won 48 games on the trot, no player was over 1400 and apart
from the past few months had very few games on the go. Sometimes
just that one. but I have come close to cocking a few up and have been lucky..

Hopefully I should make page 1 February or March 2017 providing
I do not run out of 1400 players and my luck which is running very thin holds.

....er.....that's it.

I tried that but the bastids were beating me about 1 in 20 or so. You lose to em and all you gained goes bye bye🙂

Never really been bothered about a rating, think maybe the wins there
gained me 15-20 points. And in a few I've been very lucky.

My only worry regarding rating is if it drops way down to 1600 or something
like that people will say I'm sandbagging, but as I never play in rated tournaments
that will not be the case. It means I've finally been caught out and my bluffs no longer work.

An example of how lucky I get and bluffing (though this one was an error.)

Here I put Bxh7 on the screen to look at it. Decided it was not on yet and
instead of putting the Bishop back on c2. I sent it!.

Thankfully Black either believed me or had that many games on the go he
did not give it the full consideration. My plan was easy get things across to the Kingside,
and set up a mate on the h-file. I've mentioned one defence, there were many.
