Mating Patterns

I just finished a game where I won with a mating pattern shown to me by greenpawn. Is there a name for this type of mate? It is tricky and I do not think I would have seen it if not for that thread from long ago.

This is all fine and well, but maybe you should reconsider your behavior in other forums on this site first.

I mean dropping the queen inside the knight from the g7 square instead of taking the tra ...[text shortened]... rook. This one is backwards. I would think it would normally take place on the b7 side of the board.

It kind of looks like a combo of an Epaulette mate in there as well with the queen cutting off an escape square.

Yours appears to be a combination of "Back Rank" and "Anastasia's Mate."

Just ran into this mate doing a puzzle. Never even considered it. At least not until I saw the puzzle, I was thinking does this really work? Then decided yes.
