Can't believe this isn't being discussed more! Anand just sacced his queen for two rooks, and has the bishop pair. It's quite exciting.

I hope he will play with the rooks as skillfully as Kramnik did in his match with Leko, that was a great game!

on move 28, why didn't white capture the bishop? Doesn't a3 give black a chance to protect the hung piece?
-I do see that it would end up putting the black queen on d4 and removes whites chance of pushing a rook to the 8th with checkmate because his black bishop will be lost.

Anand is looking pretty comfortable now, Ng5 was a logical but very strong move!

++EDIT++

Nevermind, Ne4 was just bad, he had at least 3 promising continuations!

Thanks for the link.

I am not sure if Anand is comfortable... He is 2 pawns down now...

Why not 38 Rd1?

39 Nxe6 would have forced a draw.

Edit: not a response to the post above! 38 Rd1 looks good.

This is one of those positions where I have no idea which side of the board I'd rather be on.

Anand should have kept Topalov's King on the back rank, surely?

it's really an amazing game, they're now down at queen vs 2 rooks and a pawn...
I think Anand's queen sacrifice will pay off eventually
