Lets pretend it's started. 🙂

Some lad will join in at the bottom thread and think this has happend.

Wow! Topo has opened 1.e4 and it's a King's Gambit which Anand has declined.

1. e4 e5 2. f4 Bc5

Those who read all the thread can add to it from here - those who read threads
back to front will get caught up in it.

Wait 5 mins then add 3 moves for either side - any 3 will do - the dafter the better.

Let Topo win in about 25 posts time - see who congratulates him.

Amazing! Topalov has played 3.Qh5!?

(after 1.e4 e5 2.f4 Bc5)

After a long think Anand decided to sacrifice a pawn with 3..Nf6! 4.Qxe5+ Be7.

Obviously, Black has compensation because of the exposed position of White's queen. But is it enough for a pawn?

It looks like one of the secret seconds mighta been Nakamura since he has been known to unleash an early Qh5 sortie.

The moves so far:

1.e4 e5 2.f4 Bc5 3.Qh5 Nf6 4.Qxe5+ Be7

5.Qc3 (Otherwise Black will gain time kicking the queen with Nc6) 5..Nxe4 6.Qxg7 Bf6 7.Qh6 Qe7

8.Ne2

This seems to be a novelty by Topalov. I wonder whether it was prepared? 8.Be2 has been played in a couple of games on my database.

Yeah, Nakamura loves playing an early Qh5. For instance 1e4 e5 2.Qh5 or 1.e4 c5 2.Qh5.

I'm not sure whether he's ever used this move in a King's Gambit though.

1.e4 e5 2.f4 Bc5 3.Qh5 Nf6 4.Qxe5+ Be7 5.Qc3 Nxe4 6.Qxg7 Bf6 7.Qh6 Qe7 8.Ne2

A few more moves have been played:

8..Nc6 (this might be a mistake) 9.d3 Nd6 10.Nc3

I really like Topalov's position here. Nd5 is threatened. I think Anand has misplayed this.

It is "technically" Tuesday in Australia, so you can fly there and the game starts today. 😵

This kinda reminds me of the fried liver attack.
For example 10...Nb4 11.a3 Nxc2+ 12.Kd1 Nxa1 13.Nd5

8..Nc6 9.d3 Nd6 10.Nc3

After another long think, Anand chose to attack the queen with 10..Nf5.

The game continued 11.Qh5 Ng7 12.Qb5 a6 13.Qc4 Nb4!?

I have to step out for a while. Could someone else post the next batch of moves?

8. ... Rg8! grabbing the open file. Now 9. Qxh7 fails to 9. ... Rg8! 10. Qf5 d6 11. Qb5+ Be7!. However this line follows Carlsen-Aronian 2003 (Malmo), which lead to a dead draw after 12. Qc3! Nc6 13. Nc3!.
