Another nice win for white on move 19:

Last chance for 21.f5! winning...after this miss Black is winning all the way to the end.

A whirlwind game which Black was lucky to survive!

Good fun all the way. Nice to see a Black win in this opening
as a lot of players think it is a 100% White win after 6.Nxf7.

In the second missed win instead of 4.Qxg7+

4.Rd1+ mates next move.

I don't understand why you would ever play 5...Nxd5?!

5...Na5 and black has all the fun.

Still, a well played game, congrats. ^_^

The players should consume fried liver before and or during and or after the contest.

I don't know about 5....Na5 that's what the GM's play
and they don't appear to play for fun anymore.

5...b5 or 5...Nd5 have their moments too.

The real fun kicks off with 4...Bc5 The Traxler instead of 4...d5.

Especially when the boys on here play it. Check out:

Pick one at random and stand back.

A sample. This one was fun for Black.

Actually one of the tamer ones. The King hunt looks like a guy trying
to catch a slippery eel on the banks of a river.
He has a net at hand but won't use it. (missed quicker mates).
Finally he shouts for assistance, the a-pawn hears the call,
he throws away his Queen and lands the catch.

8...Ne7 leads to a loss by force. The move these days is 8...Nb4 with wild, unclear complications - but chances for Black if played correctly

I am getting lessons from a fide master. He has shown ne how to win against Na5. I personally stuggle aganst Nd4. On youtube there is a lesson on how to beat Nb4. So I need him to show me how to go aganst Nd4.

I have had liver before. I need a drink to wash down every bite though.

Now at last Black pauses to find the mate. He sacs his Queen...} 21...a4 22. Bxf4 Nc2[/pgn]
Move 7:Kf3 maybe. What would happen if he does that and no Ke1. White should resign before the mate.

I just finished this game in which my opponent played what I guess you could call a variation of the Fried Liver. I detest this opening and have fallen prey to it many times. If anyone is willing, I would appreciate some critique on how I defended in this game(sorry no fritz to tell me), perhaps some pointers on how better to play against it next time.

At frist glance, 3 . . . d6 was not the move to make in my opnion. Instead, 3 . . . exd4 or even 3 . . . Qe7 would have been better.

A games database would help you to see different responses in the Fried Liver Attack variations, and their efficacy.
