The PGN below can be 'cut and pasted' in to your prefered offline chess application.

Ok, so when i went to info on a game today i see this. Is this so ppl can go into a chess program they have on there computer other than this site and put the game in it? other than cheating what would be the point of this. Kinda seems odd the site would do this cause it seems to make cheating easier for the ppl who do. And it seems alot do. I see alot of ppl on this site who somehow lose 2 of there first 3 games to 1200s and then win 300 in a row. Seems fishy.

You can use the feature to copy the game into a program such as chessbase 9 and search the opening database without manualy inputing the moves chessbase 9 can also be used instead of the analyse board feature because the program allows you to work with variations this can be handy in complex positions if you don't feel like using a notebook.

Has similarities to a certain South Park episode.

EDIT:I could have made a stupid NZ joke there too, but I would have sounded like American white trash.

I sometimes cut and paste the pgn of a game into an engine when the game is finished, the engine can then analyze the game and show me all the cool moves i could have made. I find it really helpful.

lol agree there, lost count the number of games on playchess in which I thought played well only for Fritz to say otherwise😀

The best is when the engine tells you that the best move was b4 on move 13 and 14 and 15 and 16 and 17 and 18 and 19 and 20.

there's two probable explanations that come to mind:

the rating is calculated from the average of opponent's rating +-400 (or half of that if the opponent is provisional also) during the first 20 games. if you play your first game against a 1400 and win, your rating jumps straight to 1800p. if your second game is against a 1200p and you win, your new rating drops to (1800+(1200+200))/2 = 1600p, so it can look in the graph like you lost even if you actually won.

also, people often don't really understand at first that it's CC over here, and blitz their moves. they get beaten silly, because some of their opponents take hours or days to catch those errors.
