Okay, I am playing as white and am in deep trouble. Black has now placed me in check with a Pawn, but surely that is Checkmate, but the game is effectively waiting for me to move. I don't see where I can move? I'm not asking for help in any way, just don't see how this isn't checkmate.

Recall an exact same situation on here years ago.
Both players thought it was checkmate but there was an e.p. capture on.

They asked what was wrong and claimed there was a bug in the system.
A moderator appeared and said nobody was to tell them as it was a game in progress.

There followed loads of posts with people dropping hints and the Mod warning
everyone off. Eventually someone cracked and told them...things got quite heated
    after that.

E.P. is easy to miss if you are playing a load of games at once. One piece of advice
I can offer. Never play an E.P. capture in a pub v a stranger. Don't do it.

What, so we let them fix their backward pawns for free? 🤔

    Hi BigDogg,

Yes. Either that or get involved in a row and being being accused of cheating.
Honestly I've seen it happen. Don't do it in a pub unless you are 100% sure
    your opponent knows the rules..

Yes, it's frowned upon to give help with a move in an ongoing game.

If asked, maybe the fairest response is to just advise both players to review all of the rules concerning how all of the pieces move, and leave it at that. You're not helping one player over another and you are not pointing out anything specific for the current situation.

If we were talking about some serious high-stake tournament, then nothing at all should be said to either player, unless it comes from a Tournament Official.

@Homer1Simpson. Looks like checkmate to me! Go to "Send Feedback", be sure to use the game id and let Russ know there must be a glitch in the system not recognizing the checkmate. Good Luck!

I don't think there is a glitch zorro.
At the time when the question was asked the game was still in progress.
Black had just completed move #50, with g5. That would have been mate except that g5 left white with only one move, which was the ep capture that was made on move #51.

The game ended with 51. hxg6(ep), followed by Qf3-h3 Mate.
