Yes, Seitse wants to frame the challenge this way so he can bypass all the horrid stuff in the Old Testament. Interesting tactic.

Yes, of course. But by bypassing the OT you frame the challenge in such a way as to exclude the worst barbarisms of the bible while still retaining those of the Koran.

Which seems perfectly valid to me if all you are doing is proving your book has less barbarism than the other guys.
If however you think that proves your book is barbarism free, then it is a clear logical error.
After all, we could compare Jesus and Muhammad vs Satan.

Let's start, shall we? 🙂

Jesus
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
Gospel of Matthew 5:44

-

Muhammad
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your
power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the hearts of
the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides,
whom ye may not know, byt whom Allah doth know.

Qur'an 8:60

Question: Are we only going by direct quotes, or does, say, Jesus in Revelation count? I know I made the thread, but it's the Clown's Challenge, not mine.

Matthew 10:34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

“‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’[c]

37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Matthew 13:40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee:

The Clown's challenge is for direct quotes, indeed.

Jesus asks you turn the other cheek.

Muhammad asks you to kick butt.

Here it is, transcribed:

Jesus: But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone
slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

~

Muhammad: Would you not fight a people who broke their
oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had
begun the attack upon you the first time? Do you fear them?
But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are
truly believers.
