The original request was to dig a hole 36" in diameter and 30" deep to plant
a large tree.

The request changed as they decided to plant a smaller tree and said they need a hole half that size.

How do you dig half a hole?

My recent thought, which helps me sleep a bit, is that as a species we ain’t gonna make it. So we might as well enjoy the time we have left.

But not by doing drugs.

so far, history tells us that extinction rates on earth are nearly universal

i think i would prefer a comet, unseen, undetected
or maybe a plague that annihilates quickly
or
my favorite
an alien species that evolved much like humans and even has human characteristics comes to harvest their twice an eon food supply

i hope i qualify as dessert
