@drewnogal saidDrive a diesel car, but complain about how humanity is "raping" (nice way to devalue a word!) the planet.
Me sanctimonious? When I drive a diesel car?
Sounds sanctimonious to me. Are you by chance a member of PETA?

@shallow-blue saidDiesel is being demonized unjustly I think. In fact the Efficiency (km/chemical energy) is better in a diesel than in an Otto Motor. Electric driving is hyped also unjustly in my opinion.

If you want to do soemthing for the planet reduce the use of cars (moving more than a ton of steel to move less than 0.1 t of human seems very ineffective)
@ponderable saidDepends where your electricity comes from doesn't it?

@wolfgang59 saidWell it is also a question of how you store the electricity .
Depends where your electricity comes from doesn't it?
But yes, as soon as we have regenerative electricity as amjor source things will become different. Bt if you take the electricity from a coal fired plant the efficincy is not too high Overall.
@wolfgang59 saidIt works well in some countries but already has it’s problems in Northeast Africa and the Middle East which will only add to the instability within the regions.
@Ponderable
Coal-fired is so last century....

@drewnogal said1 Give the earth a hug
Walk to the shops and use the car less.
Compost the rabbit bedding and poop.
Dilute the bleach and washing up liquid.
2. Pay higher taxes
3. Stop heating and cooling your home. And no, if outside don't start any fires, that's cheating as carbon emissions are set free to wreak havoc on us all!
4. Use less of everything. Stop going places. Be content just knowing you are unified with those who take all your money in taxes that you are doing a good thing.
5. Stop using petroleum based items. In other words, move back into the caves where you belong.
6. Stop breathing as much. And when you do breath, try to exhale smaller portions of CO2 into the atmosphere.
7. Try to hold in your flatulence. Also, when you do be mindful to avoid open flames so as not to spontaneously combust, thus adding to your carbon footprint even more!

@drewnogal saidFixed my saggy sofa with a large piece of laminated MDF today.
Reduce what you send to landfill - Treat your sofa with respect and sit on the floor from time to time.
It looks like it will outlive me.
@very-rusty saidOutsiders unite!
LOL....Good one, but don't expect that to happen anytime soon!!!
The herd have to stick together, to protect each other. 😉
