Apart from Andrew Lloyd Webber losing 20 million, look's like the 'Rolling Stones' et al dinosaurs are out of a job. BBC1 'Click'. Virtual concerts now.

Go on Madonna - let's have a whiff of your biff on the patio for the world. Free mind you.... not paying, not like last time...

Live music sucks when it comes to sound quality.

Rap/Hip Hop is over played and my God it's been 30 years...get a new style jeesus.

Pop music is all the same...
Girl breaks up with guy...
Guy breaks up with girl...
Girl gets with guy...
Guy gets with girl...
Bajeesus if you buy a Pop CD or download, every song is about a guy or a girl.

When did people get so simple and dumb?

Country music is poor me or it's a party 🙄

I listen to heavy metal but the real music was the 1970's and 1980's

After that music died.

@The-Pickled-Walrus

Ted Nugent, Gary Moore, Phil Lynott, Sammy Hagar. Damn shame... I take no notice of modern music, I see enough on the telly with first one having a crisis of confidence & another having there F/ing nails painted.

You make a good case with those first few points. They're well-founded. Today's music is way too tame. But it doesn't submit voluntarily. Today's artists cannot control the media and promotions filter.

Anyway, I do disagree with that last statement. The 1990's provided an excellent run in musical creativity.

Some of my favorites:
Nirvana; Pearl Jam; Green Day; Smashing Pumpkins; Alice in Chains; Soundgarden; Rage Against the Machine; Blur; Jane's Addiction; Sonic Youth; Alanis Morisette; The Cranberries; The Offspring; Weezer; Blind Melon and Incubus... etc.

Ok I will admit the 1990's music was ok but it was all downhill from there.

All of the bands Wolfe63 mentioned were very good actually 😉
I like all of them.

After that...?

My God it got bad... 😒

It was like all bands and promoters sat down and said....

How can we cater to 13 year olds?

Break ups! and New Loves!

🤮

The 1980's was king as far as raw talent goes.
(In a modern sense...
I think Classical music is King overall)

Just so people know...
A study was done and heavy metal and classical music causes the same brain stimulus and rage 😡

Interesting tidbit.

It's a good thread.
I have been raging over the death of music for almost 30 years!

Anger rising 😠

I agree with you except for country music. Country has increasingly become more like pop. I think Taylor Swift had a lot to do with that; a country starlet who switched to pop with an ungodly amount of success.
