I am happy to report that I have now tried both of them on hot buttered toast. The marmite tastes slightly sweeter and vegemite has a slight bitterness, but I liked them both.

I think it helps if you keep in mind that a little bit goes a very long way, and also be forewarned that they are not in the same category as peanut butter, or any form of jam or jelly. They are in a totally different catagory.

They are both very SALTY! They are going to taste that way.
