I have a flash drive that I bought ten years ago. It had a lifetime guarantee. It stopped working a few days ago. The shop I bought it from is closed. There's nothing I can do. I guess what was in play was the lifetime of the shop and not my lifetime (as the owner of the flash drive).
Has anyone got any stories about trying to claim against what was sold as being a lifetime guarantee?

"Buy one get one free" really? So you are cutting your gross margin by at least 50% and your net margin by a lot more?
"75% off" so you were selling it for 100 and still make sufficient cash margin by selling it at 25 and 100 wasn't you ripping me off?

There was a lifetime guarantee. They fixed it for no additional charge, without any push back at all.
It turn out this kinds of window/slider has desiccant in the spacer around the rim between the two panes, and this is inevitable. So the companies who sell this build it into the costs. We live in a dry climate area so the frequency is low, allowing lower pricing.
I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to what might be the most mundane RHP thread ever.

No. Of course not. The shop closed more than eight years ago. It's about three doors down my street.

I mean, if they have some potatoes that are one or two days old, and they get a new delivery in to top up, then they must be using this latest batch first. They must throw so much away, their prices must be much higher than they need to be.
