Well not quite the same as having an allergy. I think the thing about cats is they scratch everything even if you get them a scratch pole. They actually do that to sharpen their claws which is why a lot of people have their cats front claws removed which pretty much leaves the cat with no defence except its teeth.

I believe they are trying to put a stop to it here in our Province.

There was a three-month grace period before it took effect today. ... Declawing involves the amputation of bones in the cat's paws.Mar 15, 2018

Very good - there must have been hard work by a lot of people accomplishing that. If we can't accept animal behavior, we shouldn't have animals.

Yes I believe there was as many people were concerned about scratches from cats especially with small children and infections which could result. Of course ruining furnitures has already been mentioned, and there were other things I can't recall at the moment. I figure you have these concerns don't have a cat.

Common symptoms of cat scratch fever include:
a bump or blister at the bite or scratch site.
swollen lymph nodes near the bite or scratch site.
fatigue.
headaches.
a low-grade fever, which is above 98.6°F (37°C) but below 100.4°F (37°C)
body aches.

So, having an allergy is "not quite the same as having an allergy"?

Can you imagine trying to sharpen a dagger by scratching with it?

Cats scratch to mark the boundaries of their territory.

If "into" science here's something interesting for ya. There are around 4 quadrillion quadrillion bacteria on Earth. That's a lot...right? 🤔
