We have a 10% or so Muslim population. During the month of Ramadhan pork suppliers say that that is the slowest month of the year for pork sales. So not many Muslims actually follow Islamic dietary guidelines.
Slower pork sales mean fewer people are eating pork.
During a religious observation, then you claim the religious observation doesn't observe less pork consumption.
