I've extolled the virtues of Veep (good) before ~ it is, after all, now in its 5th 'season'. But Flowers (good) and Upstart Crow (bad) are quintessentially British comedy and both new. The former is a very unusual and perhaps brilliant depiction of a knuckle-bitingly dysfunctional family. The latter is a baffling turkey: a pointless and meekly done copy of the now 30 year old classic Blackadder II (good). "The Catch" (bad) is the odd one out ~ yes it's trashy lightweight nonsense, but it's not a comedy. I couldn't think of a new U.S. comedy I'd seen that was bad, blessed, as I am, with keen and uncanny instincts as to what American comedies to watch and not to watch.

A new U.K. series called "Mum" looks promising, albeit standard British comedy-of-manners/sensibilities type stuff.
