How com people in movies always can take coffee immediately after the get it in coffee shop and carry it without burning their fingers in most casual way, mostly while they read the paper, they don't even look when they cross the street, when they get in a subway or a bus, there is always a seat for them, no one is pushing them, or even touch them, and they come to their working place, they put the coffee on the table and everything is okay, only that they are tired and unsatisfied for some reason bigger than ordinary cup of coffee which is as just said great. (And they never has to say how much sugar, or if they want cream.)

I always have to wait for eternity for coffee to get cold, no way that I can carry it as soon as I got it. Not even when I ask for second cup as a kind of an isolation layer.

It is because you don't want watch people to wait for their coffee to cool.
Umberto Eco once wrote a definition for "porn film" It is a film, wehre driving (or coffee fetching) is done in real time. If there is no story to tell you have time to burn. If you want to tell a story, just skip the pesky details which only cost time...

In the movies it's an empty cup... it's called acting.

In real life people burn their mouth and hands all the time with their coffee to go, the ones who don't and drink it straight away aren't human.

I never did get the idea of coffee on the go anyway, that stuff like whiskey was made to drink slowly while sitting and enjoyed.

True enough. Immersion requires acceptance though. When a navy seal picks up a backpack loaded with styrofoam, I notice and lose immersion. When an arrow to the back makes a man drop stone dead in a moment, I notice and lose immersion.

No one said being a screenwriter or a director was easy. Actors have it worse of all.
