Every day near dawn
We come to Red Hot Pawn
We have our own language but we know what we mean
Pins skewers and forks but fools mate's seldom seen
A knight on the rim is grim so they say
But a horse on course is a force
And now to put the ladies minds at ease
Because in our chess club we seldom have sleaze
When we discuss the Scandinavian opening we don't mean some Swedish whore
And when we chat about Birds we mean pawn to f4.
