I’m thinking this gorilla is just too big for the debates forum.
The unimaginable is becoming imaginable. All that’s left is demonstrating successful reentry, targeting and detonation and there’s
only one way to do that.
What should we do now, before the demonstration? What should we do after it, if demonstrated over ocean ocean? If over a city?

However nuclear weapons are invented and can't be uninvented. So rogues with sufficient knowledge and Access to nuclear material will be able to built a bomb...
Making bomb-material is not trivial but doable for a rogue Regime.

Indeed there should be a General Abolition of nuclear weapons.
However nuclear weapons are invented and can't be uninvented. So rogues with sufficient knowledge and Access to nuclear material will be able to built a bomb...

They know full well we have thousands of nukes and they MIGHT have 10. Let's see, who wins THAT battle?
They know that full well so it is not a threat, they are not going to Nuke Tokyo or San Fransico or Hawaii, that is not their game.
Their game is strictly intimidation and car chicken, who backs down first, they are aiming to get sanctions removed.

Kim Jong-Un is not Trump, except in ego. Kim is much more calculating and methodical. Everything he's done has been deliberate, as a show of force to the world and as s propaganda to the NK people.

Someone is going to have to quell their pride, and reach out to NK diplomatically. Treaties and trade deals need to be reached. Forcing countries to do anything never works, unless an actual war is waged. Obviously, we don't want that.
Un is totally bluffing, playing a dangerous game for sure with a loose cannon like Trump in the WH.
One think Trump probably never takes into account is this: suppose he does launch the big one up north. He probably doesn't even know the fallout will go to South Korea, Japan, China and even Russia has a southern border with NK.
If T even thinks about that he would probably go, 'oh well, we got Un' Sorry about the fall out in Tokyo'
