Other initialed references such as JFK or SCOTUS, same thing. I just looked up ‘Initialism’ , prob best word that explains first initials. Never heard of it!

Why would there be a period between the two words does United Airlines have one. My gramma is pure 💩 so I actually have no idea but I’ll probably never include what I deem to be a superfluous period.

Scuba, POTUS, etc. if you speak it as if a word. U.K., U.S.A. etc. if you spell out the letters, “you Kay” (no one pronounces it “uk” rhymes with “puck” ).
