Now scientists are catching up with folk wisdom. Recent research indicates that bruises treated with tobacco juice heal 20 percent faster than untreated bruises.

My mother would apply 'comfrey leaves' to any of mine or my siblings bruises...I continue this practise as nothing works better in my opinion.
