They don't want Biden to get the credit.

So much for being "pro-life", eh?

Someone should tell Samuel Alito.

While the Biden administration yesterday did (finally!) announce the implementation of solid measures to deal with the shortage (weeks after they should have) and while other bills were introduced that would hopefully help production, the bill referenced in the article is not really about solving the crisis.

This particular bill increases the baby formula coverage by SNAP and WIC. Those may be good ideas, but they have nothing to do with solving a shortage. A "shortage" means that there isn't enough formula on the shelves. If you have SNAP and WIC but there is no formula on the shelves, that's like having an awesome new canoe but no water to use it on.

While, again, I'm very happy about the belated steps the administration is finally taking under the DPA and other agencies to try to solve the crisis, the first issues they worried about (the cost of the formula) are mainly irrelevant to the issue.

(By the way, @wildgrass, when you asked me last week what Biden should be doing and sneered that I apparently want Biden to act like a dictator, my answer is that he should have done at least 4 weeks ago what he did yesterday.)

Not sure if it's true but here's the reason:

Edit: I'm having trouble with the link but it's a video of Tim Burchett saying it was a $28 million bill that gave people at the FDA $23 million in raises and did nothing to actually put formula on the shelves.

I'll say it again;
Criticize and obstruct.

9 out of 210 Republicans isn't so terrible, though Republicans were the only ones to vote against it.

What is significant is who one of those Republicans were: rising conservative star, Majority Taylor Greene. How one person can be so consistently on the wrong side of every issue is dumbfounding.

You can bet your last penny the GOP and their minions will be howling "Big Government Overreach by the Dem's!!" When this issue comes up in the November midterms. As I've said 100 times here, the GOP is happy to be "pro-life" when it suits their political ends, but once these children breath their first breath of air, these "pro-lifers" don't give a hoot about any of them.

Show me an ad that criticizes producing more baby formula and I'll join you in trashing it.
