So... Sarah Palin has stepped down as Goveror of Alaska. She was tired of dealing with ethics charges, and having herself and her family being watched too closley. Sarah Palin wants all the advantages of a being major player in a political party (money, power, etc.) but does not want to deal with the pressure of such a position. It goes with the territory!! The G O P had no problem going after Hillary Clinton like a pack of rabid wolves when the Whitewater story broke back in the 90's, but they cry like little girls when someone on a nitetime TV show tells a few jokes about sweet little Sarah Palin. Well Boo Hoo Hoo :'(

Really, thats what you believe, that no politician has been as harshly treated, really? Maybe you need to wipe the "patriot" out of your eyes and ears.

well lets see, Oh there was nixon, oh yeah he was about to be impeached raged an unpopular war, was a criminal, he got a bit of bad press. Oh yeah, there was clinton, with the whole cigar and dress thing, some bad press there. Oh wait, Yeah your right, in the 9 whole months that Palin was in the limelight she was, by far, without a doubt, the MOST criticised, politician in the US's entire history. Then she quit(she had it so rough, i'm shedding one very meaningful tear.)

Fired Walt Monegan for personal gain due to petty vindictiveness -- something she has a long history of.

Bill and Hillary Clinton were given lots of grief over fabricated scandals against them. John Kerry was smeared over his Vietnam war record with fabricated attacks by the Swift Boat Veterans. Michael Dukakis was subjected to a race-baiting "Willie Horton" attack ad over and over. Al Gore was falsely accused by the NRA of wanting to take guns away from law-abiding citizens, and falsely accused of lying by the media whereas Bush told actual lies and was given a pass. Obama was subjected to fabricated smears concerning ACORN, his birth certificate, and various other race-baiting material as well as ridiculous charges concerning his associations.

Edit: Oh, and Carter was given a lot of unwarranted criticism by Reagan and others over the Iranian hostage crisis and economy, whilst Reagan jumped credit for fixing the economy when it was actually Paul Volcker (a Carter appointee to the Fed) who actually fixed the stagflation crisis.
