Not only will the congressional Republicans try to stop the limited action against Syria, they will fund it.

So much about this enrages me, I can't see straight.

So the US is going to war in Syria on the moral high ground that they cannot allow Syria to use WMD's against their own people?

1. Who has confirmed that WMD's were used?

2. If they were used, how can they confirm Al Qaeda did not use them in order to draw the US into the war to kill off Assad?

3. If the US confirms that Syria used chemical weapons, where is the cry for inspectors to go in an prove that they have more?

4. If using WMD's is enough reason to attack a country, why was Saddam not taken out when he used them on the Kurds long ago?

5. The US used WMD's against Japan. How is this more righteous than Assad using them in Syria?

As a side note, I find the whole denial by the Obama administration that attacking Syria is not an attempt at regime change as intellectually insulting and down right retarded. They said the same thing about Gaddafi. What do they want us to believe? Do they wish us to believe that they just want to kill off a bunch of people and then just go away? LOL.

Interesting that both regime and foreign jihadist targets are likely to be hit.

From your link...
The Russians, declaring that they are not going to war, have given their backing to a limited American strike’ against their ally in Damascus. The strike would not be aimed at regime change in Syria, a US spokesperson announced yesterday, ‘The aim would be to weaken Assad and, from a weakened position, bring him to the negotiating table in Geneva
Makes sense if Russia's aim is to keep Assad in power and Syria out of jihadist hands. Obama would probably settle for that if he gets a pile of captured WMD's to gloat over.

I think we should bomb Syria's Air Force lest it be used on there own people, but if there's going to be an election after Assad's leaving in an unstable country they might well need the army to help keep the peace so the Allies need to be careful what they attack.

One U.S. official who has been briefed on the options on Syria said he believed the White House would seek a level of intensity "just muscular enough not to get mocked" but not so devastating that it would prompt a response from Syrian allies Iran and Russia.

"They are looking at what is just enough to mean something, just enough to be more than symbolic," he said.
Get that? We plan our military strikes now by mock-worthiness. I have an image of Obama standing before the UN while all the ambassadors hold up score cards from 1 to 10, judging his performance.

Jesus Christ this administration is a joke.

From what I hear, neither will there be in Syria. He will just lob more missiles in strategic areas like he did in Libya.

Of course, this would not be a war, just like it was not in Libya. I'm not sure what word is appropriate to use to describe this sort of action, but it definitely is not a war, therefore, Congress need not be consulted or notified in any way........ever again.
Obama is making the US the air force wing of Al Quada.

There is a strong whiff of grease-paint.

With luck they'll at least strike out the remaining airports, to interrupt the hitherto unabated supply of weaponry and troops from Russia and Iran.
