Yeah; kind of like Halliburton/ Big corporations in general for liberals.
And Big Evil Corporations are definitely the liberal's "version" of the conservative's Big Evil Government. (Never mind the fact that these two leviathans are in each others' back pockets)

THE ACORN SAGA CONTINUES....
On Glenn Beck’s radio program this morning, Beck played new audio clips from a fourth incident that had also been taped under-cover. This tape comes from San Bernadino, Calfornia. Once again James and Hannah pose as a prostitute “Eden” and a pimp and are speaking with an employee named Theresa.
Upon their arrival, Theresa asks them if they are familiar with ACORN, the actors state they are, and Theresa goes on to tell them that “We say we are non-partisan.” Which implies that they are in fact, not. Like we didn’t know that already.
When James and Hannah reveal their “professions,” Theresa divulges that she herself used to run an escort service and seemingly thinks that Hannah’s job as a prostitute is great. Even better, Theresa says “Heidi Fleiss is my hero.”
James and Hannah additionally reveal they are planning on smuggling El Salvadorian underage girls into the United States to fund future political campaigns, to which the ACORN worker voices no objection what-so-ever.
10:54am: As the audio continues, James divulges his aspirations to run for an elected office someday. In enthusiastic response, Theresa says she speaks with Congressman and Senators every day. She names Senator Barbara Boxer and Senator McCleod, and 62nd district Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter. Theresa says that “Eden’s” prostitution money would be an asset to him in his quest to become a Senator or Representative.
11:01am: Regarding the legislators that she speaks with, Theresa says that they (most likely herself and their ACORN office) are lobbying these law makers in behalf of health care reform. Apparently, this “non-partisan” organization that gets government money for housing assistance is using tax dollars for health care lobbying.
11:15am: Theresa discloses that her ex-husband abused her and “beat the hell out of” her. She then continues to confess, “I killed him . . . . I shot him.” She notes that she had laid some “groundwork” beforehand. When James and Hannah question her as to whether he was abusing her when she killed him, she says that he was not at that moment, but she knew he was going to, she said, “I knew it was coming.”
11:30am: It looks like that’s all for now with the latest ACORN video to be released. To see the video, be sure to watch Glenn Beck’s program on Fox News tonight at 5 pm Eastern. The video and transcript will be available on Big Government after 4 pm Eastern.

Are there no procedures in the U.S. for handling alleged evidence in what seems, on the face of it, to be potentially a criminal case?

Originally posted by FMFI am no lawyer but, I would think this stuff is evidence enough to have congressional hearings on ACORN. The woman theresa who talked about killing her husband might have some questions to answer from the authorities,as well.

Maybe the people who have this material in their hands don't want it ever to go to court.
Originally posted by FMFYou may be right. As far as I am concerned ,they should not be receiving tax dollars. This is a very shady group from the top down and they hide behind a mask of helping the poor.

I found the ACORN reply to Washington withdrawing support for the group interesting. Apparently, they used to get millions a year from Washington, but when told it would be cut off the response was that it was not really even needed. 😲
My only question is, how much $$$ do these cats get in donations and where are they coming from?
5th video released
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has been in the news because of a video that depicts them giving advise to a prostitute and her pimp.
The video was actually part of a sting operation done by James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, 20, and posted on BigGovernment.com. The videos for the ACORN offices in Baltimore, Washington DC, NYC and San Bernadino have been released and the next video that has been released is from the ACORN office in National City.
The videos most often seen is the one that shows O'Keefe and Giles pretending to be a prostitute and pimp asking for advise from the ACORN staff. They tell the staff that they have been trying to get a home loan but can't because their business is a brothel that hires underage girls. You can hear the ACORN employee telling them how to make the business look legitimate by classifying the business as a performing arts business and brain-storming ideas for things to write off on their taxes.
The National City video shows an ACORN worker telling O'Keefe how to smuggle young girls from Mexico. The employee is also heard trying to solicit Giles, by asking "How much do you charge?"
Sean Hannity from Fox News interviewed Giles and she said "she was extremely uncomfortable and wasn't expecting that." She went on to say that, "He told us it would be best if they (girls) were shipped into Tijuana first because he had contacts there that could help us."
Since the videos the Senate has voted to deny HUD funding and Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., has asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency to repeal a $1 million grant it awarded to ACORN.
ACORN has asked for an independent investigation. Since the video four ACORN employees have been fired.
ACORN first made the news when they were accused of voter fraud in 2008, when some of their employees submitted false registration forms with Mickey Mouse.

In such circumstances why does it matter that they they were accused of voter fraud? If this is the best you've got in terms of acusatory integrity, why should we give any of your OP any credence?

They have been found guilty of voter fraud not merely accused maliciously as you contend.
If you do not like the topic do not participate in the discussion. But, do not sit there and pontificate "why should we give your OP any credence?"
"The Nevada field director of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has pleaded guilty to conspiracy for organizing a scheme that illegally paid workers to register new voters.
As ACORN field director for Nevada, Christopher Edwards paid canvassers – described as “lazy crack heads” by an ex-employee in the police affidavit – to register voters for the 2008 US presidential election. Edwards also set up illegal quotas of 20 new voters a day for the canvassers to keep their job and paid a $5 bonus for signing up 21 voters or more.
The Leftist-leaning, Chicago-based group with close ties to Barack Obama targeted low-income, so-called “underserved” communities for registration drives. It is believed that the illegal quota system masterminded by Edwards encouraged the collection of fraudulent voter registration forms during the 2008 campaign.
As part of Edwards’ guilty plea, he is cooperating with authorities and will testify against several high-ranking ACORN regional officials, including former regional director Amy Busefnik. His testimony could strengthen similar pending criminal cases against the group in Florida, New Mexico and Pennsylvania."
