I have just seen a feature length (musical) documentary film called Heima. It's about the 2006 national tour (including tiny village halls and completely acoustic shows on hillsides!) by homecoming Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros - returning from touring the world. It's is a really quite stunning piece of film making. I was very struck by it, as were my young kids, who - at one point - were standing there for 20 minutes or more gazing at pictures of austere mountains, groaning glaciers and ruined cottages - as Sigur Ros's (arguably) unique music swooped, plunged, soared. The whole things was unusually captivating. Has anybody else seen this?

Nope, but by the sounds of it, you and your kids would enjoy Baraka immensely.

I have to agree. Baraka is not meant to be watched on youtube. Go see it in a theatre.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are right. You need to watch it on a decent set-up. NOT youtube.

You can buy it for peanuts on Amazon.

Fat chance that they are going to show it here... Youtube is good to decide whether it's worth buying. Of course watching it on the computer still won't be great, but it can't be helped.
