Jaga Jazzist - One-Arm Bandit (2010) is the kind of album that people who like these kinds of albums will like.

It sounds a bit like Zappa 1972-1984 (WakaJawaka - Them Or Us, the instrumental stuff, without the guitar) crossed with Nik Batsch's 'Ronin' ensemble, with a sprinkling of King Crimson/Robert Fripp.

Some decent sample tunes on their website:

'Day' from Stix is great: jazzin' drum 'n bass ... 'Toccata' from the new one starts off sounding like Philip Glass building up to ... dance of the space whales ... I'm bracing myself for a Meredith Monk intervention ... no, it's a forest of tubas ... Well, it's a brassy filigree with rude bits and sentient percussion.

Thanks.

Here's another to try:

The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble (Madlib) – Miles Away [2010]

Patchy, but it's best bits are definitely comparable to Jaga Jazzist.
