Films I can watch over and over again that I would select for the proverbial desert island:-
Excalibur - Its magical and unique in a strange sort of way
Good Will Hunting - Awesome, I hope the sequal goes into production
Candyman - The Philip Glass background audio is awesome, you really feel sorry for the victim (Helen) in the film
A Clockwork Orange - You just have to see it, unique in every way
Scarface - The godfather of gangster movies
Seven - Great acting, great story and one of those "oh no" endings

I really enjoyed 'Cookie's Fortune' by Robert Altman. Two thumbs up for charity-shop VHS.
Last night I watched Ang Lee's "Sense and Sensibility," a period piece starring Kate Winslet and Hugh Grant. It's beautifully shot, well acted and has a good story and snappy dialogue. It's a good companion piece to his other great family drama "Eat Drink Man Woman."

First one I saw was 'Short Cuts' -- loved it; ditto 'Gosford Park', 'The Company'; I'll watch any Altman film.
Have to track down episode 90 of 'Maverick'. The Calvin industrial films also seem very interesting ...
