It's about life and death. It reflects the view of death during the three phases of life: youth/medieval, middle age/present and older age/future.
At least that's how I see it.
Edit: The effects are done without any CGI (Computer Generated Imagery).

My fav movie has to be the Truman show - + brilliant soundtrack.
I saw Brave heart again the other night, it was on the telly but the ending- I didn't want to see that again!

Goodfellas

Somewhere In Time
Raiders Of The Lost Ark
Star Wars

This is my BOOM-stick!
"Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"
Bruce Campbell cracks me up all over that film. Here's a great resource for sheets and giggles:
