I am British, but living in California. I have taken up studying chess again, in order to compete with my son Christopher, who went from being an easy victim, to a tough opponent and finally the usual victor; in the space of two weeks! Now I am scrabbling just to keep things interesting for him.
I typically respond to moves withing an hour or two and, in order to speed things up, I make conditional moves when the options are limited and the moves are obvious.
