@rajk999said There is no evidence to support your gross exaggeration of $40B in the last 2 years. US aid to Israel has been about steady at $3B over the last few years. It is only this year Biden signed off an increase of around $14B, making it $17B for this coming year only. This he said is to help Israel defend against Iran. I suspect Israel wants to take out Irans nuclear facilities ...[text shortened]... mountains. I think the world should be grateful that these sickos have no nukes because of Israel.
Last year there was a similarly sized aid package.
@rajk999said This bill is not yet in force, maybe it is for 2025. It was overwhelmingly approved by the US Senate, 79/18. Apparently there are just a handful of Palestinian supporters among the US Senate. They all see the justification in assisting Israel. Maybe they know something you dont. Maybe these are some of the reasons why Americans like Israel:
Is it that they’re the only ...[text shortened]... , and infrastructure to their enemies once a cease-fire has been declared?
[copied off Quora]
Yeah I was correcting your claim that US support for Israel is only $3 billion. It's more like $40 billion in just the last 2 years.
Jackbooted thugs are literally stopping Jews from moving through the campus because they are Jews (https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1782278428466565433) and terrorizing people to the extent that they are terrified to go to class (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/columbia-hold-classes-virtually-jewish-leaders-warn-safety-palestinian-rcn ...[text shortened]... about open discrimination that you would NEVER tolerate if it were against a favored minority group.
sh76 - That was my awkward attempt at sarcasm. The thread topic is hypocrisy. Sorry for the offense. These are the same politicians that called it peaceful after protests where someone was shot to death. "Good people on both sides" after someone was purposefully run over by a car. What's worse: afraid to go to class, or being dead?
The right wing politicians call for free speech and call it peaceful even if there is lethal violence employed, just because they support the cause of the protestors.
This means that Biden breaks his promise that he will not raise taxes on those making less than $400k. It is all here.
No opinion from AvJoe. Higher rates for, well, you.
It needs to end.
The Tax Cuts Act added $4 trillion to US debt. It was passed by irresponsible and juvenile Republicans who still think "trickle down economics' and "starve the beast" are real things.
Our grandchildren should sue us, but we'll be long gone.
@wajomasaid Then why did you mis-gender a fellow poster?
I do not consider it an insult BTW, and the only way one could consider it an insult is that you, as a woman and as an individual, suffer an inferiority complex. If there is any misogyny it manifests here in your self hatred.
The only possible way calling a person a woman could be considered an insult is that you view women as ...[text shortened]... problem, i.e. your self hatred, Or that's a little coarse, let's call it your 'self-disappointment'
@rajk999said I would be interested in seeing the source of your data for 2022. Here is what I got:
The United States committed over $3.3 billion in foreign assistance to Israel in 2022, the most recent year for which data exists.[1] About $8.8 million of that went toward the country's economy, while 99.7% of the aid went to the Israeli military..
I can't speak for America, but where I live, the native population cannot supply the needs of the local economy. I'm not talking about back-breaking dumb labor (fruit pickers) either. In the medical industry here, fully half the doctors and nurses are non-natives. Universities simply cannot educate enough people. I suppose it is similar in many other countries.

@rajk999said You take too much credit. The US funds $3B out of a $25B defense budget. Its small potatoes. US protestors mean nothing to the rest of the world.
Those are prewar 2022 numbers. It's more than $17 billion that we just forklifted over to you, to 'fight' civilians. Do you not need the money? Why all the groveling then?
I don't take any credit and it seems you don't want to give it either. The protestors - the topic of the thread - want the funding to end. You can keep buying your bombs with your own money.
@rajk999said A man of God, a promoter of justice, a righteous man ... pick one
Then the other Hamases will meet the same fate... they are all going to die
Remove the Arabs from Gaza who have been terrorising the Jews for the last 20 years.
For you. Jews feel safe when the Arabs who want to kill them are on the run.
Ask some more.
You'd have fewer US protestors if we were not funding your feelings.
@kellyjaysaid My first questions are why did Hamas go into homes and kill families on Oct 7th? Why, was it necessary to rape, kill children, sweep the country side killing so many? What did those families do to deserve that?
I don't know. It was not. Nothing.
What does that have to do with Israel bombing civilians?
@kellyjaysaid Are these genocidal maniacs or peaceful protesters?
The casualty ratio is 30:1 so it is understandable that kids, raised with handfuls of participation trophies, who were born after 9/11, would not fully comprehend this multi generational conflict.
Americans are buying bombs that are being dropped on civilians on purpose. Voters should be asking questions.
