Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Don't know who said that but it applies directly to you. We bring this kind of thing because it can happen again, we are not castigating stuff that happened hundreds of years ago, we just see those things as things we need to remember because we can see when things slide downhill towards that situation again.
We CAN lose our democracy and we CAN lose the protective laws and regulations about child labor and digging up coal again or dumping toxins in our streams and rivers and the like, say unregulated electrical wiring where a shady operator would use cheap underrated electric cables to wire power to houses or use the cheapest POS lumber or plumbing parts. THAT is why we like regulations, without them slimeballs WILL take advantage of folks who are not experts in whatever field someone wants help in.

No, it would be refreshing for you to just admit Trump has zero morals and was, is and always will be a fraud, only interested in one person, Donald Trump.
I would be the last one to suggest Bill Clinton had much in the way of morals but comparing a POTUS getting a blow job or two to what Trump did in HIS presidency, is literally no comparison. Billy didn't have dozens of Felony charges and I cringed when I heard about the Lewinsky deal but just getting sex is one thing, it is totally another thing to pay big time money to TWO porn stars to not talk about it just before an election. That is election interference, a crime much lower on the morality totem pole than anything Bill Clinton did in his term.

That doesn't even talk about the OTHER legal issues like hundreds of TS docs in several locations and refusing to give them back even though being asked to do so dozens of times till they went after him with a subpoena but that doesn't matter to you at all, and his pet personal cannon, Judge Cannon may end up getting him totally off on that charge and you would go in that case, SEE WE TOLD YOU SO, TOTALLY INNOCENT. Even though even YOU know full well Judge Cannon is about the most biased judge in Trump's favor of any of the other judges overseeing his many legal issues, you don't care.

One question: How much does the concept of empathy come into any conservative debate? Isn't conservative debate more about not spending money and getting rid of government regulations? I don't see much arguments from conservatives about actually say lowering the price of meds or helping students get lower cost educations and the like, instead they seem to concentrate on having more cops or make more laws to make more folks breaking laws.

You can't make a guess? Lack of morality? First felony trial? Having long term relations with one porn star and a brief one with Stormy while he had a newborn babe at home? He already has legal losses with half billion in fines already, which BTW as much as the ultrarightwingnuts want to parrot Trump and go Witch hunt, those convictions for fraud and defamation were based on solid evidence and it was not started by Biden. Biden has no input to tell Garland what to do, Garland sent a letter to Biden saying he would be independent or he would refuse the job.

Now BTW we find out why it has taken so many years for the election interference trail to start, Barr squashed the investigation years ago otherwise he would have had his trial date start very soon after he left office but Barr chose to squash the whole deal till Garland came along. So we had to start that trial 4 years late, which of course is just what Trump wants, get it to the election time, if he wins all those pesky court cases go away. And of course you would approve since you think Trump can do no wrong.

Do you really think we think you would not vote for Trump if he was convicted in court? He already has been convicted some 5 times already, but you go yeah but what about criminal court? So here we are, and it is clear you will vote for T even if he is in prison which he won't be, most likely probation but even with probation that is a conviction for a felony and you would vote for him anyway, your rational would be he didn't go to jail.
