Why can't I find any cricket fights? Do they call it something else like 'slap fest' or something?

You want excitement? Watch American football of basketball.
You like to see people drinking tea? Watch cricket.

It doesn't take skill to swing as hard as you can with a thin bat at a ball moving 100 mph?
Actually, you're right about ALL AMERICANS.

I quite like watching baseball and played a bit at school and there is no better or worse, personally I prefer cricket to play or watch.
What is clear though is that cricket is by far the more skilled game.
Cricket batsmen would make decent baseball batters.
Cricket bowlers would make decent pitchers.
Cricket fielders would make decent baseball fielders.
You can not always say the same for baseball to cricket.
That said we have a yank in our side who was apparently a decent baseball player and he is an ok batsman.
Now as for power hits

And this is almost like a baseball pitch to a cricketer

According to the legend, Ruth chatted with Bradman for a few minutes and actually arranged for the visitor to take some BP. It was one of the proudest moments in Bradman's life and one of the great moments in Australian sport and cricket history.

In the second clip, why didn't the ball bounce? can you do that?
Also, you based your whole cricket can MLB can't on one American you know? Who said he plays baseball well?
Interesting vids... they 'smoked' the ball. There are hundreds of hits like that in MLB each month.

As for your last comment, Phlab, you've missed the point a little. Cricket is hard; hits like those in the clips are fantastic because of the great difficulty and risk entailed. If they occurred every handful of balls the game would lack any depth.

You do not have to bounce the ball.
You may also bounce the ball and hit the dude on the head and it is legal.
MLB to cricket is not based on one person - the Yank who plays in my side is actually pretty decent at cricket (in his words he was pretty good at baseball). I base it on the fact that all the other Yanks who I have played cricket with were not that good.
HOWEVER THAT IS NOT TO SAY THEY COULD NOT DO IT.
Watch Pro20 and one day internationals and you will see sixes week in week out.

Some of the myths:
Bradman hit one out of the Park (No one ever has.)
Ruth said to Bradman "us little guys will show them how to hit" (Ruth was anything but little.)
Ruth entertained Bradman in his private box at the Stadium. (Ruth was playing in 1932 and wouldn't have been watching the game from his "private box"😉

Having played both games I can tell you that
Batting in cricket is far more difficult than in baseball.
Bowling in cricket is far more difficult than pitching.
Fielding is about the same except it maybe slightly easier in baseball due to the fact you have a huge glove to catch the thing with although in cricket you can use 2 hands.
