And if we created this now archaic patriarchal figure head we can uncreate yahweh, Shiva, God or whatever other name that has been used and head towards a secular spirituality which seems the only way forward within this religiously fragmented world.

Couldn't existence be just a manifestation of the nature of the universe?

So where did matter come from?

You don't know. But one thing you seem to know for sure: God never put it there!

How do we see god? as some all powerful father figure, just like we viewed our biological father when we were very young, so the god figure head is just an extension of the ideal we had of our biological father to help us out in this big bad world. This archaicness served a purpose once, but surely now we're more sophisticated than that. Yes we need a certain form of spirituality to fufil certain intrinsic needs, but can't we make it a secular one...........

How do we see god?

Are you saying that if you cannot see God it means He doesn't exist?

Let me rephrase 'how do we see god' to the 'how do we portray god'
