Hermes? I dont know.
Tesla was awesome. He is probably the greatest inventor ever and he got all his ideas from visions ...

If you are referring to Hermes of Greek mythology, the answer is no.
If you are referring to some other Hermes, the answer is still, no.

Thats why I like to have a poke at 'science' . While the Newtonian and subsequent Eisteinian laws of physics have served us well, to deny a man like Tesla is to deny a hell of a lot for the rest of humanity.

Did you know he used to get off shocking himself with electricity when he was down. Strange stuff ...
Whats the Hermes connection?

A very bright man, but no Hermes connection.

Well, metaphorically speaking Hermes was the original inventor. He invented music, weights and measures and many other things.

Most importantly though was the Hermetic principle of 'As above, so below'.
The Caduceus which is represented as 2 entwined snakes represents the flow
of energy to the heavens and back to the earth. Tesla masters this by building
machines capable of transferring electricity to the ionosphere and back to
whoever needed it.

Hermes never invented anything. It was he that was invented.
It is a made up story.

Just another example of a christian with nothing positive to say unless it coincides somehow with his belief system.
Shame, really. You can learn a lot about our modern world by reading a biography of Tesla.
Remember this guy invented more things than just about anyone else. Many things that are still in use today. It's only when he wanted to champion free energy that the establishment ,(and Westinghouse), shunned him and called him a crackpot, etc. So they took all his good ideas that could make them rich quickly and then turfed the guy. But they didn't kill him...oh no. That would've drawn even more attenttion to this remarkeable guy, who singlehandedly forged the roads in science to better production of electricity, amongst other things.
Get positive, RJHinds, you just fall in with half of the christian posters on here that, unless they are linked to the bible or christianity, they are not worth getting into. Why even bother responding? you think poo-pooing other peoples ideas outside of christianity is in any way helpful or constructive?
What gets me is how you could consider yourself a reasonable contributor to these forums. Yes you contribute a lot, but I see so much hot air and not much off your own bat.

That's OK, I lay into Christians all the time for taking a perfectly good
idealogical story and ruining it by pretending it's real.

I was careful to say that I was speaking metaphorically though.

I find it very interesting that Christianity does not seem to like the
term 'incarnation'. Isn't there meant to be another visit from this Jesus
fellow? Would not that be considered an incarnation?

Are you saying that you find the ancient Egyptian stories less
believable than the bible?

He probably takes the proposition he exists as being less believable than the Bible.

I understand Hermes is from Greek Mythology.
I believe Tesla was his own man and had no connection
to mythology. What Tesla did was real. If he got any
help with his ideas it was from God, the greatest inventor
of all.
