I believe the Upanishads, which spawned Hinduism, which spawned Buddhism is about 6000 years old.
Gutam Buddha is said to have been born around 500 BC.

Surely you can google and wiki and all that?
Yes, I did. But I am not sure that any of this is more than myth. Can any of
the history be verified by other sources like the history of many of the things
written in the Holy Bible.

Look, I take the bible as one source of reference and then look at others as well and see if they match up.
If you really dont believe that the vedas came before Jesus why why not start a separate thread and ask rvsakhadeo? Surely he could point you to some other references.
He is a Hindu living in India.

As far as I knew Bhuddha was born in a hindu society about 500 years before christ.

I really dont know what is wrong with believing that and still using JC as your guide

Kristos - Christ - Krsna.

Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

He is not an Avatar.........but he is the source of all Avatars.

Krsna is spelt KRSNA.....( the proper Sanskrit spelling.)

Krishna is the way the westerners spell the name.

Karoly is the only person who said anything true.

Going on-line and googling the Vedas will give you information which may be correct or incorrect because there are many scholars who speculate about the Vedas.

To get correct information you must approach the proper source - and the only proper source is books by His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Srila Prubhupada.

I find Prubhupada conservative in his views about the Vedas.
However I think it seems an excellent choice for those needing the "path of devotion" in their lives.
I have first hand seen many a westerner changed for the better by running up and down a mountain performing duties while chanting "Hare Krsna".

There are many paths, we should not be so quick to dismiss the Krsna movement altogether because it does not conform to our beliefs.

If nothing else, I have first hand seen westerners stop carrying out crimes on our society due to the Hare's.
Their temples have been a refuge for many a colorful characters, not all of which instantly become devotees, but perhaps are changed on the inside by the Krsna society which they become a part of.

He looks like a very unhappy person.

The proper source for your religion is books by His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta
Srila Prubhupada because he is dead and buried. The proper source for the
Christian religion is Christ, who died and rose again and we have an empty tomb
in Jerusalem that proves it. The Christian source is alive in Heaven and He has
promised to return very soon to set up His kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.
HalleluYah !!! Praise the Lord!
