the phrase appears to me to mean 'oh yes, the now', and is not very common in Glasgow, in fact i have never heard it spoken by anyone here, it seems to be a simple parody used by ignorant southerners who do not know the difference, but then again, we cannot help where we were born.

Well I checked the original Greek and Hebrew and both translated it as "robbie carobbie is a charmless jock-weasel with no sense of humour".

It's a stereotype that I suppose only exists in movies.

I was in Newcastle in the North East of England recently
and I met this girl. She was fascinated by my Irish Dublin accent.

Say top of the morning she insisted,

I told her that top of the morning and begorrah only existed in Hollywood films.

She seemed disappointed. Then took my pants off.

And her smile came back.

What kind of girl roams the streets of the north east and yanks the pants off the first Mick she meets who whispers in her ear?
