no. the honest scientific efforts of many, many smart people do not fit into the young earth model, for example. if you don't know this, you should read more.

Since there is no aramaic word for "was" (verse 2) it is said that the more accurate translation is "became". So the theory is that eons could have passed between verse 1 and 2.
God's original creation was perfect, then somehow it was corrupted. During this time is when there was rebellion in heaven and Lucfer was cast down,... the whole satan thing, then satan corrupted what God had made on earth. He supposedly tampered with genetics, etc., thus the dinasours.
