I don't think so, yet we treat God worse than we would any human being. Would we treat our parents the way that we treat the Almighty? Do we not give our parents credit for helping to bring us into the world a ...[text shortened]... you that he exists and that he created you, what say you? Would you say so much as thank you?
No, you're misunderstanding. If someone is an atheist and they are writing a book on atheism, they A)Don't believe in God (evidently) and B) should make no apology for that. That is what i'm saying. The book they are writing is a totally different view of existence that does not include God at any point. Why would they then show respect for something that they do not believe to be true? It's like writing a children's novel with pornographic pictures in, it's a complete contradiction.

Yes it would. I wrote that long description of my beliefs to highlight how they have changed. Who knows, they may change again, but not without a reason. Belief without reason is like sleeping your life away.

I must say, i am pleasantly surprised. All previous attempts i have made to post in this forum have failed as someone jumps on my back and screams at me till i leave. This thread is 5 pages long and no one has been a jerk yet. That's got to be a record!

Well....personally....im a christian....but....i will not and refuse to harass someone over their disbelief....when that person says no then i back away....i respect your right to decide for yourself and wish you the very best....

I know we have to try and "save" the unbelievers.....i will if they are willing to listen....if not....how can you break through their barrier...it will only make them more determined to say "go away"....

Am i making sense?....sometimes i ramble on......

I agree. After all, God does not force himself on anyone so what gives us the right? Are we better than God? If you ever find yourself coersed into a position of either unbelief or belief then know that God is not behind it, rather, man probably is. I think Christianity had its "dark period" in which it was thought that forcing what was percieved to be the truth down peoples throats was the answer. Unfortunatly, the lesson has not been learned by all.

One of the truest things I've read on the RHP fora. But sometimes you believe in things without reason. Heck it's human. And even cientists do it regarding some of their ideas.
By the way (slightly off topic) but do you know that one of the earlier proponents of the big bang theory was a priest? His name was lemaitre and besides being a priest he was physicist and knew very well how to separate the two realms.

I didn't know that. I wonder what his thoughts were on evolution?
