i recently watched a show on the history channel about time travel and the possibility of space travel through wormholes and it got me thinking. if one could travel back in time or forward in time, does that imply that predetermination would exist? if so, would that imply that a god exists?

watch Dr WHO if youlike si fi time travel storys. as for wormholes at present only theory, but would be needed to travel between galaxys. Sience only gives us knowledge of that which can be proved, not the knowledge of things which are hidden from our eyes.

As far as I'm aware, one can only travel forward in time.
It's to do with acceleration. The example of the two watches makes it clear that if you project one at extreme speeds one way and then bring it back at that same speed, that the time of the watch on Earth will be lagging. So the watch you've shot around has went forward in time.

However, the whole "Back to the future" like argument is obviously void. Anything that happened in the past has only happened because anything that ever went back caused it to happen that way anyways.

Wormholes? I'm not into bestiality.

Not neccesarily her greatest fan. But I'd certainly shag her.

haha.
Yes.

However, should we change the second "e" to an "o", it becomes a whole other matter... especially on this forum!

1. Extreme speeds only highlight the difference in time. However as time is relative we are all travelling at different speeds through space time and whenever our velocities in space differ then our times also differ. For highly accurate measurements such as those required for GPS navigation it is essential to take into account the effects of relativity.
2. The idea of wormholes is that if spacetime is warped enough it might be possible for one part of spacetime to 'touch' another part of spacetime that is potentially far enough removed in the time dimension for information to travel backwards in time. The implications would be significant but would be different depending on the structure of the universe which is currently largely unknown.
