perfection

ive been told by many posters of the christian variety, that god/jesus is perfect.


what exactly does this mean? is it possible to be perfect? to be universally perfect would every thing you say and do be need to be judged as the best thing by everybody?

so if god does x do all the people in the world need to think x is perfect for it to be perfect? if not how do we determine perfection.


(im off to try and make a perfect cup of tea if its possible)

All men have sinned. Sinners cannot judge God. That's preposterous.

1. No. But all men have sinned, except our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Sinners cannot judge God because God has no peer, especially among sinners. All sinners have some sort of ax to grind and so are incapable of judging without bias.

3. At least Religion has a productive purpose. Worship of a righteous Creator. Comfort to the needy, sick and downtrodden. Hope in a future free of the debilitating effects of sin. A reminder that evil should be contested.

you said 'sinners cannot judge god' so therefore you cannot say god is perfect, as it would be a judgement. you therefore cannot have any self made opinions of god, you can only repeat what he says about himself, any attempt to think fore yourself about god would result in a personal judgement of god.

Sinners cannot judge God, yes, that's true.

Is giving my opinion "judging"?

While you could argue that a judgement is an opinion, the act of judging comes from someone who has authority or qualification to do so. It is authorized, official, and/or authoritative.

My opinion is not "judging".

I say God is perfect because the Bible tells me so; that is my authority. It is part of my faith.
